Blu-ray Sales: December 19-26: Tenet Goes Back and Does It Again

For the week that ended on December 26th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Tenet again topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts. The sci-fi action epic, which cost an estimated $200 million, was intended to come out in July 2020 and dominate the box office. Then the coronavirus pandemic happened. Theaters were closed worldwide with the release of the film only months away. Eventually, the decision was made to release Tenet overseas in late August, with a US release close behind in early September. Unfortunately, that strategy didn't produce the results everyone was hoping for, at least domestically, where Tenet made just $57.9 million. Things look a bit better for the film internationally, however where it has made over $300 million. No doubt driven by fan anticipation, particularly in areas where movie theaters were (and perhaps still are) closed, Tenet beat out several holiday favorites in the week leading up to the Christmas holiday....
